Tampoco podríamos entender el Western sin Victor Young, extraordinario violinista y compositor, autor de la partitura de “Shane” (Raíces profundas, 1953), cuyas notas musicales reflejan perfectamente cada escena de esta película intemporal con una elocuencia brillante, dramática, y llena de nostalgia. Su inmensa capacidad para el dramatismo musical queda plasmado en obras como la citada “Shane”, “Río Grande” (1950), “The Sun Shines Bright” (El sol siempre brilla en Kentucky, 1953), “Johnny Guitar” (1954), “The Tall men” (1955), “The Paleface” (Rostro Pálido, 1948), “Forty Guns” (“40 Pistolas, 1947), y “Destry Rides Again” (“Arizona”, 1939).
Un compositor que se destacó por sus partituras melódicas y románticas, en las que se convirtió en un auténtico maestro.
